Tsueng Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel BMCPC Footbridge

Project data

Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong

The Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel (TKOLTT) is approximately 4.2 km long, connecting Tseung Kwan O and East Kowloon. The Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemetries (BMCPC) part of the project was the deviation of the existing footbridge for crossing the new highway.

The challenge to overcome in the construction of the bridge is that at the same time the haul road for tunnel access should be kept under use. The additional constraint was that all of the construction activity was taking part on the side of a cliff!
