Zhengzhou 4th Ring Road Expressway

Location: Zhengzhou, China

The 4th Ring Road project’s 63.6km long elevated bridge is the largest precast segmental bridge project in the world. Our client, Tai Hong Construction Development Co., Ltd., faced a short construction program and needed a lightweight and modular heavy duty shoring system to stay on schedule.

PERI supplied the modular HDS (Heavy Duty Shoring System) with a proven load-bearing capacity of 1,000 kN to meet these requirements. A hands-on training before construction start enabled the client’s team to use the system efficiently. The team with 7 members completed the whole assembly of 12 towers within 24 hours and cycled them effectively for supporting the installation of precast segmental bridges. This fast handling was facilitated through the simplicity of the HDS system with only 5 types of components.
