Care and maintenance for formwork

Extend the life of your formwork panels with our simple tips

When you have invested in a formwork, it is only natural to want to extend the life of that asset for as long as possible.  Life on the construction site is tough on equipment, and it is important you can rely on your assets to complete the job on time and on budget.

The correct treatment of formwork during care and maintenance includes cleaning, replacement of worn parts, refacing of the formlining, the inspection of welds and joints and the integrity of the overall materials.

We can provide both support and advice on how to maintain your formwork yourself, or we can also provide some of these service for you.  This has the advantage of knowing only genuine PERI parts are used, as well as saving you yard space and manpower to complete these tasks, leaving you more time to focus on delivering your projects.

Before using the formwork panels and accessories at the construction site

  • Use suitable fasteners to fix recess bodies and built-in parts in order to reduce damage to the formlining
  • Avoid stepping on the formlining surface. Dirt on the soles of shoes can lead to scratches on the formlining and become visible on the concrete surface
  • Reinforcement spacers should be used with large support. In this way, indentations in the formlining can be avoided under a given load.
